NetFM History

NetFM was started in 1996.

Its initial role was providing consultancy software development to Cable & Wirless (formerly know as Mercury Communications). NetFM developed the web based account management facility for Project AIDA - Advanced Internet Dial Access. This represented one of the first customer self service portals and has shown the way for similar developments by all the major Internet Service Providers.

From this initial consultancy led software development, NetFM formed the key concepts for a mediation server: to accept inputs from nomadic devices (most typlically the mobile phone); to form a loosely coupled rules based processing engine; to provide asynchronous communication to employees with relevant information to the task in hand.
